New Orleans superintendent search on track to have new schools leader by April

The search for a new superintendent of New Orleans public schools is on track to be completed by April, according to Greenwood/Asher & Associates, the headhunter firm hired by the Orleans Parish School Board.

The search firm gathered community input at virtual meetings -- with in-person sessions scheduled for this week -- and is recruiting candidates. The firm will then present candidates to the board to be interviewed. The board wants to have a new leader on board before current Superintendent Henderson Lewis Jr.'s contract expires in June.
