Pandemic Unsettles Hiring Cycle for College Presidents
GA&A Partner and President, Jan Greenwood, is quoted in an article reported by Inside Higher Ed discussing how COVID-19 is affecting higher education presidential searches.
Greenwood discusses the sense of urgency to complete presidential searches by colleges that are operating under an interim leader. Some colleges have informed candidates that they are the top choice for jobs, but they are waiting to present a final offer until the candidates are able to travel to campus.
"One end of the continuum is that universities are continuing the searches and deciding to hire without ever meeting in person the person they are hiring", Greenwood said. "Others are doing on-site interviews with technology, and then letting them know that they will be getting an offer whenever they are able to visit campus."
